Get Involved

The Good Friends project aims to support 1500 older or vulnerable people in its pilot year, but this cannot be possible without the support of the public, with an overall goal to recruit 1000 Good Friends who will support older people in their area, helping to create community cohesion in Darlington.

The level of support a Good Friend wishes to commit to is entirely their choice, and further opportunities are available to those who wish to take their volunteering further. Opportunities include accredited training, elevated responsibilities as a Good Friends leader - or more specific volunteering opportunities, such as a Volunteer Befriender.
